The project seeks to establish an online network among cultural organizations from the Eastern Caribbean and French Overseas Departments. Over 50 cultural organizations, working within the fields of living arts, music, painting, patrimony, environment, etc. will participate in this exchange network of experiences and informations, facilitated by the Internet.
The OECS Family Law and Domestic Violence Reform Project forms part of the wider Judiciary and Legal Reform Project of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court (ECSC) aimed at increasing the capacity of the judicial system and related institutions to improve the administration of law and quality of justice in the OECS.
The OECS Health Sector Reform Project was established with assistance from the government of France to strengthen Ministries of Health; re-organise health systems; enable quality improvement and assurance and to facilitate regional sharing of health services.
The OECS Secretariat IS project is aimed at providing support to the OECS Secretariat that will enable it to enhance its capacity to effectively achieve its objectives and address its role on behalf of its Member States. Moreover, the project focuses on strengthening several aspects of the operational framework for the Secretariat inclusive of organisational strengthening; administrative management; financial management; research, data collection and analysis; human resource management; functional cooperation and programmatic skills development; and development and public awareness. The Project is funded by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) with a contribution of CDN$3.75M. The planned duration of the project is six years from November 2004 to October 2011.
The goal of this project is to strengthen the role of the legal and judicial system in providing a sustainable, enabling environment for equitable social and economic development.
The OECS Telecommunications Reform Project was initially a part of a wider project called the Economic Diversification Project. The Governments of the OECS opted for a more focused project that would directly deal with telecommunications. Telecommunications is recognized as being the critical element for economic diversification and it was agreed that there was need for competition in the sector.
The OECS Trade Policy Assistance Project is funded by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). The Project seeks to strengthen the capacity of the OECS to participate fully and compete in the global economy.
